HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Specialty chemical company Albemarle said on Tuesday that it is moving the operations of its pilot plant in Dayton, Ohio, to its recently acquired pharmaceutical plant in South Haven, Michigan.
The move will begin before the start of the third quarter, the company said. A few employees will likely stay at the Dayton plant through at least 2008 to fulfill commitments to customers.
Albemarle said it is consolidating the operations to take advantage of overlapping equipment and staffing. It expects to take a pre-tax charge of up to $5m (€3.7m) in the second quarter.
