TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s naphtha imports for ethylene conversion in April fell 28.9% compared with a month earlier, statistics from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry highlighted on Wednesday.
The country imported 999,429 tonnes of naphtha in April, down from 1,405,234 tonnes in March.
The total cost of naphtha imported in April was $637.4m (€469m), a decrease of $170.4m from $807.8m in March.
The price of naphtha was $637.8/tonne in April, up 10.9% or $62.9 from $574.9 in March. The cost amounted to yen (Y) 51,799/kilolitre in April, while Y46,912/kilolitre in March.
The price of naphtha in March was 5.4% higher than $545.4/tonne in February, according to the previous ICIS news report.
