PetroRabigh plans to pre-sell PP, PE in October

GUANGZHOU, China (ICIS news)--PetroRabigh, plans to pre-sell polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) in October, a company source said on Tuesday.

 

“As we will not have started up at that time, we will first sell linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and polypropylene (PP) from Japan and high density polyethylene (HDPE) from Europe,” said the company source.

 

PetroRabigh is a joint venture (JV) between Sumitomo Chemical and Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco).

 

PetroRabigh was founded in September 2005.

 

“We will be in charge of Asian Pacific sales and about a half of the produced quantity will be exported to China,”  said the source at Sumitomo Chemical Asia.

 

Planned to start up in the middle of 2008, PetroRabigh will have capacities of 700,000tonne/year of PP, 350,000tonne/year of LLDPE, 300,000tonne/year of HDPE and 250,000tonne/year of Easy Processing polyethylene (EPPE).
