LONDON (ICIS news)--Monthly chlorine production continued to rise in Europe this year, increasing 6.2% year-on-year in April to 890,265 tonnes, industry association EuroChlor said on Wednesday.
Production was lower than March’s output, which rose 3% year-on-year at 904,636 tonnes.
Capacity utilisation at chlorine plants in April was booked at 86%, compared to 82% in the same month the previous year.
April exports of caustic soda were 47.7% up compared with the previous month and 0.2% down year-on-year.
Stocks of caustic soda in April were recorded at 322,282 tonnes, 7% higher than March’s stocks.
