LONDON (ICIS news)--One of INEOS Polyolefins’ low density polyethylene (LDPE) lines in Cologne, which had been undergoing planned maintenance came back on stream as planned on Friday, a company source reported.

The second line at the facility remains out of action and force majeure is still in place after its unplanned halt on 8 May.

The two LDPE lines have an annual capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year, split more or less evenly between the two.

“Production at the line affected by force majeure should be back up by the end of next week,” the source said.

LDPE prices have increased by €20-€30/tonne ($27-$41/tonne) in May and PE producers have made it clear they would be seeking further hikes in June.
