SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--China’s Hualian Sunshine Petrochemical has finalised its May price for locally-produced purified terephthalic acid (PTA) at yuan (CNY) 9,000/tonne delivered, up CNY250/tonne from its April price, a company official said on Saturday morning.

 

The May final price was on par with that of fellow local producers Sinopec and Xiang Lu Petrochemical, which posted their settlements earlier in the week.

 

The official said that the price hike for May was based on “overall higher spot values for the month” and the company’s “very high feedstock costs”.

 

As of 0800 hours Beijing time on Saturday, BP Zhuhai has yet to name its price for May. Like Sunshine, BP’s April price was also CNY8,750/tonne delivered.
