LONDON (ICIS news)--Contractual benzene deliveries from INEOS Olefins’ 295,000 tonne/year plant in Grangemouth, Scotland, will not be affected by the delayed start-up of its cracker there, a company spokesperson said on Tuesday.
The source said the company was able to source material from within its system to cover its contractual benzene commitments.
INEOS declared force majeure earlier in the day on supplies of ethylene, propylene and butadiene from its Grangemouth site due to unexpected maintenance work on the G4 cracker.
INEOS had identified additional work to be carried out during a scheduled maintenance shutdown between 14 April and the end of May, which meant the start up of the cracker will be delayed by another three months.
