Mitsubishi Chem posts June PTA at $1,020/tonne

Singapore (ICIS news)--Mitsubishi Chemical has nominated its contract price for June purified terephthalic acid (PTA) as $1,020/tonne (€759/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) China, $60/tonne higher than the May price, a company official said on Thursday.

 

“Based on the higher prices of feedstocks for June, we’ve decided to seek a higher price for June PTA as well to cover our costs,” said the official.

 

Mitsubishi is one of the largest PTA suppliers in Asia. As of 17:30 hours Singapore time, other leading producers such as BP, Mitsui Chemicals and Samsung Petrochemical Co.
