LONDON (ICIS news)--INEOS Polyolefins’ low density polyethylene (LDPE) line in Cologne, Germany which went down unplanned on 8 May, will be back on stream this weekend, a company source said on Friday.

The second line, which had been on planned maintenance, was fully back on stream this week, the source confirmed.

Force majeure restrictions were still in place as stocks at the 350,000 tonne/year LDPE production site were low. The capacity is split more or less evenly between the two lines.

LDPE prices rose by €20/tonne ($27/tonne) in May, leaving gross price levels at €1,240/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe), according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
