Russia starts bioethanol project in South Lipetsk

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Russia started construction of a new bioethanol plant in Southern Lipetsk region on Thursday.

 

The new facility, OOO Bioethanol, would have a capacity of 49,500 tonnes/year, which could be expanded up to 99,000 tonnes/year, regional authorities said in a statement.

 

The facility would be built at the Lipetsk special economic zone at an estimated cost of Rb2.8bn (€80.8m/$107.5m).

 

In the meantime, Russia also pursues plans to build 300,000 tonnes/year bioethanol plant in Southern Volgograd region, and 150,000 tonnes/year bioethanol facility in Siberia's Omsk region.
