Metabolix to sell three new grades of bioplastic

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Metabolix said on Wednesday that it is introducing three new grades of its bioplastic, Mirel.

Two grades, Mirel P1001 and P1002, are for injection moulding applications.

The third, P2001, is for paper coating. It will allow customers to make fully biodegradable paper cups and food packaging.

Metabolix is making Mirel under a joint venture with Archer Daniels Midland.
