HOUSTON (ICIS news)--INEOS’ ranking as the largest private company in the UK by The Sunday Times’ Top Track 100 annual league table reflects the growth that the petrochemicals maker has seen in recent years, the company said on Monday.

The company had sales of £18bn (€12bn)/year and a year-end operating profit of £630m, according to the UK table.

Following the acquisition of Innovene, BP’s chemicals business, in December 2005, INEOS has become the world’s third largest chemicals company and a leading manufacturer of petrochemicals, specialty chemicals and oil products, the company said.

INEOS includes 18 businesses, with a production network spanning 68 manufacturing facilities in 17 countries. It employs 15,000 people.
