HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Brazilian fuel distributor BR Distribuidora plans to sell biofuel for airplanes as soon as next year, according to local media reports on Friday.
President Maria da Graca Foster of BR said in a seminar that the company wants to be the first to sell the fuel when it is fully developed, according to a report by O Globo.
The unconfirmed report said an as-yet undisclosed formula for the fuel – called Bio-QAV – was being developed by a Brazilian chemical engineer named Expedito Parente, in partnership with NASA and Boeing.
BR is a subsidiary of state-run Petroleo Brasileiro (Petrobras).
