SINGAPORE (ICIS News)--Shanghai Petrochemical Co (SPC) will shut its 380,000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Jinshan between 26 July and 9 August for a fortnight-long turnaround, a company source said on Tuesday.

“The plant’s shutdown is in line with the cracker’s shutdown earlier in the month,” said the source, who added that the company’s other 225,000 tonne/year MEG unit at the same site would continue to operate normally.

SPC is a subsidiary of Sinopec and operates two crackers at Jinshan, the bigger of which has been shut for a 30-day turnaround. The company’s other downstream facilities include polyolefins and polyester units.
