SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical said on Thursday that they have selected KBR as the project management contractor (PMC) for their proposed chemical complex in Ras Tanura, Saudi ?xml:namespace>
“This mega-project will leverage our refining assets by adding value to our feedstock to produce a diversified petrochemical slate of specialty chemicals,” Salman M Al-Aradi, Saudi Aramco’s project director for the Ras Tanura project said in a statement.
Initially, the project scope includes world-scale production units for polyethylene, ethylene oxide and glycol, propylene oxide and glycol, chlor-alkali, vinyl chloride monomer, polyurethane components, epoxy resins, polycarbonate, amines and glycol ethers.
The Ras Tanura integrated project is valued by the industry at a minimum of $20bn (€14.6bn).
