Finolex to expand pipes capacity by over a third

MUMBAI (ICIS news)--India’s Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) said it is planning to expand its polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes capacity by 35% this year.

 

The company aimed to raise its output from 74,000 tonnes/year to 100,000 tonnes/year, it said late on Friday.

 

A new plant for the manufacture of PVC pipes would be set up in Urse, Maharashtra state, and would cover an area of over 20 acres, the company said.

 

Finolex had earlier told ICIS news that it would invest about rupees (Rs) 350m ($8.6m) in expanding its PVC pipes manufacturing capacity by more than 60%.
