SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--The Taiwan June purified terephthalic acid (PTA) contract price was settled retroactively up $5/tonne from May at $925-935/tonne delivered due an increase in feedstock costs and reduced PTA operations, buyers and sellers said on Friday.

The increase was capped by relatively weaker demand in China compared to Taiwan.

“We managed to convince our customers to accept a $5/tonne increase in general,” said a source from Formosa Chemical & Fibre Co (FCFC).

End-users such as Tuntex Distinct Corp, Shinkong Synthetic Fiber and Far Eastern Textile agreed confirmed the $5/tonne increase.
