SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Nan Ya Plastics shut its 100,000-tonne/year bis-phenol A (BPA) No 3 line for a scheduled month long turnaround on Wednesday, a company official said.

Asia’s largest BPA spot seller’s No 3 line at its Mailiao petrochemical complex is expected to be restarted on 25 August, he said on Friday.

"After the No 3 line is restarted in end-August, we might then consider shutting down the No 1 line for maintenance until end-September, but we have not finalized our plans yet," the official said in Mandarin.

Nan Ya’s No 1 line has a capacity of 90,000 tonnes/year. It has four BPA lines, with a total capacity of 420,000 tonnes/year.

Other BPA majors in Asia include Kumho, LG and Mitsubishi Chemicals.
