TOKYO (ICIS news)--Japan’s exports of methyl methacrylate (MMA) monomer in 2007 is forecast to decrease by 10% compared with the previous year, figures from a local industry association showed on Friday.
The country’s exports of MMA monomer in 2007 was expected to be 81,360 tonnes, down from 90,400 tonnes in 2006, the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association (JPCA) said in a statement.
Internal demand for MMA monomer was expected to total 192,100 tonnes in 2007, up 1% from 190,100 tonnes in 2006, the association said.
Meanwhile, the country produced 40,400 tonnes of MMA monomer in June, a 10% decrease from the same time a year ago, according to a previous ICIS news report based on the statistics released earlier by JPCA.
