LONDON (ICIS news)--Celanese’s engineering polymers subsidiary Ticona said on Friday it had decided to relocate its polymers plant from Kelsterbach, to the Frankfurt-Hoechst Industrial Park in order to make way for a new runway at the city's international airport.

Ticona agreed last year to move its production of Hostaform polyacetal copolymer (POM) and Celstran long fibre reinforced thermoplastics and had been in extensive discussion over potential sites but this one had been decided on.

“The Frankfurt-Hoechst Industrial Park site meets our key criteria for selection and will ensure Ticona’s future business success,” said Ticona president Sandra Beach Lin.

The company plans to spend the next four years building the plant, which will have a larger capacity than its present Kelsterbach facility.
