Fire at Russia Tomskneftekhim causes little damage

MOSCOW (ICIS news)--Fire at Tomskneftekhim caused limited damage, the Emergency Situations department in the Tomsk region said in a statement on Friday.

 

The accident took place on Thursday night at the water treatment facility, it said.

 

OOO Tomskneftekhim, which is controlled by Russia's petrochemical holding Sibur, produces about 200,000 tonnes/year of LDPE and more than 100,000 tonnes/year of PP.

 

Tomskneftekhim is currently shut down for regular maintenance and the plant is due back onstream in the second-half of August.
