ICIS PRICING, the global market pricing and intelligence service for the oil and chemical industries, will be launching a new daily fiber intermediates report for the Asia-Pacific region on July 30, primarily to mete out insight on recent price volatility in the intermediates market.

The report will be a reconstitution of the current monoethylene glycol (MEG) report and will feature comprehensive daily price assessments for purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and MEG, as well as commentary on the daily MEG market trends and outlook.

"China's overwhelmingly increasing influence on the fiber intermediates market has seen it releasing a wave of uncertainty towards the Asian market," said Salmon Aidan Lee, senior editor, ICIS Singapore.

"With this in mind, ICIS pricing has decided to launch the new daily report with added market commentary from both MEG and PTA arenas to help industry players make effective pricing decisions."

ICIS pricing's weekly PTA and MEG pricing reports are already renowned benchmarks in the global market for competitive price settlements. Following closely to the algorithm of the Chinese Language Fibre Intermediates (China) report launched in 2006, the new Fibre Intermediates Daily report will include in-depth assessments of spot quotes for PTA and MEG, in both US dollars and yuan.

The report will aim to serve as a more focal insight into the Chinese market's buoyancy in relation to other markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
