HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US biofuel producer Better Biodiesel could resume production at its plant in as little as 30 days following a fire last week, the company said on Wednesday

Production at the plant in Spanish Fork, Utah, stopped as a result of a fire, which occurred on 25 July, Better Biodiesel said. The plant has a capacity of 3m gal (11m litres)/year.

The fire was caused by a mechanical malfunction in a transfer line in the plant's reactor section, the company said. Damage was minor, and it was contained within the reactor section.

The company said it plans to repair and to expand production at the plant to 10m gal/year. Ultimately, the company plans to expand production to 100m gal/year.

Better Biodiesel produces fuel using a waterless technology that can use animal tallow and other low-grade feedstock.
