HOUSTON (ICIS news)--The US National Petrochemical and Refiners Association (NPRA) on Tuesday announced the addition of James Cooper to its Washington, DC team as petrochemical director.
“Jim brings a unique combination of chemical industry, program management and policy advocacy experience to NPRA,” Charlie Drevna, executive vice president of the association said in a statement. “He will be a great resource for our members and advocacy team as we continue to educate policymakers about our companies, their work and their employees.”
Cooper will be responsible for leading NPRA’s petrochemical team as NPRA works to advocate for stable, realistic and effective policies that promote both sound and stable domestic refining and petrochemical industries.
He will also be responsible for leading NPRA’s premier International Petrochemical Conference (IPC), the largest meeting of its kind in the world.
Cooper previously worked for the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA), where he served as senior manager of government relations. Before joining SOCMA, he served as CHEMTREC Supervisor/Senior Communicator for the American Chemistry Council (ACC).
