NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--Perstorp Chemicals India Private Limited (PCIPL) is to start commercial production of dipentaerythritol and dimethyl butanoic acid (DMBA) at its production complex at Vapi in Gujarat, said a company official on Wednesday.

The official said that the company was modifying the production process of its dipenta unit which started trial production a few months ago.

DMBA’s commercial production was expected to start before the end of December.

PCIPL, formerly Perstorp Aegis Chemicals Limited, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sweden’s Perstorp, which last year started its third research and development centre at Vapi.

Dipenta is used in the manufacture of polymers, lubricants, and cosmetics, while DMBA is used in cosmetic manufacturing.
