MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Abu Dhabi Polymers Co (Borouge) has appointed a new CEO, Abdul Aziz Abdulla al-Hajri, the United Arab Emirates plastics producer said on Thursday.

Al-Hajri formally takes over as CEO from 1 October. He replaces Harri Bucht, who served in the position since March 2002.

Al-Hajri is expected to successfully implement the Borouge 2 expansion project.

The Borouge 2 expansion will triple the Ruwais polyolefins complex's capacity to 2m tonnes/year by 2010 and produce polypropylene (PP) for the first time.

"Early works to prepare the site for the expansion are under way," Borouge said.
