SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Chinese epichlorhyrin (ECH) major Bohui Chemical started commercial production at its second 80,000 tonne/year unit in Zibo on 20 September, a company official said on Tuesday.

“The [first] unit (of similar size) is currently running at full capacity,” the official said in Mandarin.

Bohui also plans to build a third 80,000 tonne/year ECH unit at the same site but the timeline was not clear.

On Monday, Bohui adjusted domestic ECH prices upward by yuan (CNY) 500/tonne ($66.58/tonne) to CNY 17,000/tonne DEL (delivered) E China (east China) on the back of tight supply and stable trades. Market sentiment, however, remained cautious, with the bulk of deals concluded at CNY16,300-16,800/tonne DEL E China.
