LONDON (ICIS news)--Qatari urea producer Qafco will shut down one of its lines at Messaied in November for planned annual maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The No 1 prilled urea line will be brought down 1-2 November, with work expected to last for around a month.
The unit has a capacity of 1,150 tonnes/day, so the turnaround will lose 35-40,000 tonnes of urea.
The shutdown will not impact supply to contract customers, but will mean less product is available for spot business.
Qafco operates four ammonia/urea lines at Messaied with a total capacity of 8,700 tonnes/day.
