LONDON (ICIS news)--Malaysian urea marketer Mitco said the Asean Bintulu fertlizer plant will shut down at the end of October for planned maintenance work, a company source said on Thursday.

The Bintulu unit, which has a capacity of around 700,000 tonnes/year of granular urea, will be down for two to three weeks.
Exact dates were not disclosed.
Mitco said the shutdown would not impact contract customers as it had been well prepared for.
However, the loss of output would mean no spot material is available before November.
