BERLIN (ICIS news)--BP Acetyls, the global acetic acid producer, could complete the divestment of its ethyl acetate (ETAC) and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) units in the UK within the next six months, a senior company official said on Sunday.
“The divestment of the ETAC and VAM business is on track and we are closer to a deal in the next few months,” Guy Moeyens, chief executive of the global acetyls business, said on the sidelines of the European Petrochemical Conference (EPCA).
The sale will be in line with the company’s strategy not to compete with its customers.
BP Acetyls produces around 300,000 tonnes/year of VAM and 250,000 tonnes/year of ETAC in ?xml:namespace>
