SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Liquid epoxy resin (LER) makers in China raised prices this week due soaring feedstock epichlorohydrin (ECH) costs, producers and traders said on Tuesday.

LER offers were pegged at yuan (CNY) 28,200-28,500/tonne ($3,760-3,800/tonne) DEL (delivered) eastern China, up CNY400-500/tonne from deals concluded before the National Day holidays from 1-7 October, they said.

“It’s too early to assess the impact of the hikes on demand which has so far been fairly healthy,” said a trader in Mandarin.

The hike was to reflect a surge in ECH prices, which rose CNY1,000/tonne to CNY17,500-18,000/tonne DEL eastern China compared with pre-holiday levels due to production issues at local plants.

Key LER producers in China include Jiangsu Sanmu Group, Dalian Qihua Chemicals, Sinopec Baling Petrochemical and Blue Star New Chemical Materials.
