HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) October contracts rolled over, buyers and sellers said on Thursday.

October SBR contract prices for 1502 non-oil grade were 78.50-82.50 cents/lb ($1,731-1,819/tonne) FOB (free on board) US Gulf (USG). Contract prices for 1712 oil extended grade were 68-73 cents/lb FOB USG.

The October SBR rollover was spurred by a rollover in October butadiene (BD) contracts. SBR price movement closely tracks movement in feedstock BD.

SBR demand was firm, despite falling downstream auto sales, sources said.

Major US SBR producers include ISP and Lion Copolymer. Major buyers include Continental, Firestone, Cooper, Goodyear, Michelin and Carlisle.
