SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Chinese epichlorhyrin (ECH) major Bohui Chemical plans to restart its 80,000 tonne/year unit in Zibo in December, a company source said on Tuesday.

The No 2 unit was shut two weeks ago due to mechanical problems.

“Some parts of the unit needed to be replaced and that’s the reason why we are taking a longer time [than usual] to restart,” the source said.

Its No1 80,000 tonne/year plant at the same site was running at full capacity, she added.

China domestic ECH prices have surged yuan (CNY) 500/tonne ($66.4) to CNY 18,000-18,500/tonne delivered (DEL) east China, on the back of persistent tight supply and stable trading, according to global chemical market intelligence service ICIS pricing.
