MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Belgium’s Pipelife has started commercial operations at its new factory near Moscow, producing a full range of plastic pipe systems targeted at one of Europe’s fastest growing economies, it said on Wednesday.

"The start up of the new Russian factory highlights the commitment the group has to Eastern Europe and specifically to its largest market Russia," said Miguel Kohlmann, CEO of Pipelife.

The company would produce pipe systems for water distribution, sewage networks and in-house products, the company said.

"The factory, which features brand new equipment, will offer the most advanced products in polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) as well as vinyls, to cover the growing needs of the Russian customers," it added.

Pipelife is a joint venture with Wienerberger, the Austrian construction materials manufacturer, and Solvay.
