HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Major US gasoline refiners in California said on Wednesday they were closely monitoring the raging wildfires in southern California.

The refiners said they had yet to be affected by the fires but added they had contingency plans.

Valero has two refineries in California, its 78,000 bbl/day Wilmington refinery in southern California and the 139,500 bbl/day Benicia refinery in northern California.

The company said it had not evacuated its Wilmington refinery, but would notify employees as necessary.

ConocoPhillips said operations were normal and there was no immediate threat to its 139,000 bbl/day Los Angeles refinery. The company added that its 271,000 bbl/day San Francisco refinery and its 106,000 bbl/day Rodeo refinery were well north of the fires.

Tesoro also said the fires had not affected operations at its 168,000 bbl/day Golden Eagle refinery in Martinez in northern California.

Other companies with refineries in California include Shell, BP and ExxonMobil.

Shell has a 157,600 bbl/day refinery in Martinez.

BP has a 275,000 refinery in Carson in southern California.

ExxonMobil has a 155,000 bbl/day refinery in Torrance, which is also in southern California.
