NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--Indian Department of Fertilizers (DOF) said on Thursday that production of both diammonium phosphate (DAP) and urea during September fell short of the target.
The domestic industry produced only 361,000 tonnes of DAP, which was 18.87% lesser than the revised target of 445,000 tonnes.
The manufacturing operations were constrained by shortage of rock phosphate and phosphoric acid and maintenance work at certain units.
The industry produced 1.7m tonnes of urea, which was 2.3% short of targeted output of 1.74m tonnes.
The domestic deficit of the two fertilizers was covered with supplies from abroad, thus ensuring their adequate availability across the country.
The country imported 608,000 tonnes of urea, 482,000 tonnes of DAP and 326,000 tonnes of muriate of potash during September.
