NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s state trading house MMTC Limited on Friday issued a global tender notice for the import of an unspecified quantity of urea for shipment during November, due to an anticipated pick-up in demand during the winter cropping season.
“Preference will be given for earlier shipments subject to price competitiveness,” the company said.
The last date for the submission of bids was 1 November and bidders would have to keep their offers valid for one week, it added.
They were required to make price offers on a per tonne basis in US dollars, MMTC said.
Bidders must clearly indicate the specific quantity of urea offered for arrival, it added.
Deliveries were to be made at any of the 15 ports listed in the tender document, which excluded Mundra and Kolkata.
This is fourth time in the current financial year MMTC has entered the global market for the import of urea at the behest of the government.
