India's MMTC seeks global bids for sulphur imports

NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s State trading house MMTC Limited on Friday invited global tenders for supply of 45,000-54,000 tonnes of sulphur at Cochin port in Kerala during November-December 2007.

 

The company said the bidders would have to offer “one firm and two optional parcel of 15,000-18,000 MTS (metric tonnes) each lot.”

 

The first parcel should reach Cochin during 12-15 November.

 

The second consignment should arrive during 2-6 December and the third one during 23-27 December.

 

The last date for submission of offers is 1 November with validity up to 12 November.

 

The company has sought bright yellow sulphur as granules/prills/pellets with sulphur content of 99.5% on dry basis.

 

MMTC did not indicate the names of chemical and fertilizer companies on whose behalf it intended to purchase sulphur.
