SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Swedish specialty chemicals company Perstorp has acquired biofuel producer TallOil’s bio-oil business, adding another product to its range of biofuels, the company said on Monday.

“The business has the potential of boosting overall sales of our biofuel products,” Perstorp president and CEO Bo Dankis said.

No further financial details were disclosed.

The acquisition would be carried out by Perstorp’s newly formed company for its biofuels segment, Perstorp BioProducts, the company said in a statement. Perstorp BioProducts also has an option to buy TallOil's bioethanol business.

Sweden-based TallOil provides a range of bio-oils, such as pine tar, as a cost-effective and environmentally sound alternative to fossil-based heating oils.
