Basell and Lyondell name their planned merger

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--Basell and Lyondell said on Wednesday their combined company will be named LyondellBasell Industries, following the completion of their planned merger.

Both companies said that the LyondellBasell brand will be rolled out after the closure of the transaction, which is expected to take place in the fourth quarter.

Lyondell shareholders will meet on 20 November to vote on the $19bn (€13bn) merger with Basell.

Basell originally announced plans to buy Lyondell on 17 July.
