SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Taiwan’s largest phenol-acetone producer Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corp (FCFC) plans to shut its two phenol-acetone units in Mailiao for scheduled maintenance in March next year, a company official said on Thursday.

The shutdown dates had yet to be finalised but the turnaround could last around a month and a half, the official added.

Each unit can produce 200,000 tonnes/year of phenol and 125,000 tonnes/year of acetone.

FCFC’s facilities at the site were last shut down in March 2006.
