ICIS CHEMICAL Business Türkiye readership is growing strongly since launching on August 1 this year. The magazine, which is published every two weeks, is distributed to industrialists, businessmen and scientists working in the chemical and petrochemical industries.

There are around 15 magazines in Turkey that are written in the local language and that cover general economic and business issues, but most are published monthly or quarterly. Few specialize in chemicals, and global content is limited.

ICIS Chemical Business Türkiye's mix of global and regional content that provides a window through which Turkish industrialists can view the outside world is already proving to be a hit with the locals.

Guzin Caner, editor in chief of the magazine, said: "We feel that we will really fill a gap in this area. The Turkish chemical industry is very dynamic. It would wish to develop and expand its ınterests beyond the domestic market. To achieve this, it needs reliable and timely reports of events in the outside world."

Content is taken, in part, from its parent magazine, ICIS Chemical Business, while the rest is supplied by Turkish specialist writers.

ICIS Chemical Business magazine, headquartered in New York, has licensed its brand and global content to publisher Cicek Oztek. She says that the partnership will allow her Istanbul-based team to supply editorial content to its global parent, in the near future.

"Our magazine will provide a reciprocal information flow between the Turkish and global chemical industry scenes," said Oztek, adding that the magazine is not only the eyes and ears, but also a mouthpiece for Turkish chemical industry professionals.
