HOUSTON (ICIS news)--A derailed tanker car in western Minnesota released a vapour cloud of hydrochloric acid, causing the evacuation of more than 350 people, the Associated Press (AP) reported on Monday.

No injuries were reported, the report said.

The derailment occurred at about 4 am (1000 GMT) near Clara City, 99 miles (160 km) west of Minneapolis, the report said.

A BNSF Railway train had pulled onto a siding, causing 61 cars to derail, the Associated Press said. That caused another derailment from an adjacent line of track, which affected an additional 22 cars.
