MUMBAI (ICIS news)--Rhodia posted a 2.7% year-on-year rise in third-quarter operating profits to €115m ($166.6m), boosted by strong demand and a positive impact from product price increases, the company said on Tuesday.
For the period, the French specialty chemicals company's net sales were up 7% to €1.26bn, it said.
"The level of demand is expected to remain favourable in most regions, with strong volumes and a solid pricing power, in an environment still influenced by high raw material and energy costs," the company said.
The foreign exchange environment would remain unfavourable however, the company added.
"Rhodia confirms its 2007 outlook of a strong growth in recurring earnings before interest tax depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA)," the company said.
Shares of the company were up 0.7% to €25.73 on the Paris Stock Exchange on Monday's close.
