SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry (Group) is building a plant with 50,000 tonne/year styrene monomer (SM) and 40,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) units in Tianjin, north China, a company source said on Friday.
The project is expected to be complete by 2009 and is the first phase of the Dagu Chemical Project in the Lingang industrial area of ?xml:namespace>
Bohai has invested yuan (CNY)10.2bn ($1,300m) in the first phase. The amount for the whole project will total CNY17.3bn, the source said.
“The location is very good. The Lingang industrial area will be a world-scale integrated industrial park with convenient logistics,” he said, adding that Sinopec’s 1m tonne/year ethylene unit, scheduled for completion by 2008, will provide the project with ethylene (C2).
