US September PA imports down 69% at 269,215 lb

HOUSTON (ICIS news)--US phthalic anhydride (PA) imports in September totalled 269,215 lb (122 tonnes), a 69% slump from 858,790 lb in August, the US International Trade Commission (USITC) said on Friday.

PA imports in September were down by 77% when compared with 1.2m lb in September 2006, the USITC said.

In January-September, the US received 10.2m lb of PA, a 48.2% drop from 19.7m lb in the same months of 2006, the USITC said.

US PA producers include ExxonMobil, BASF, Koppers and Stepan.
