Bohui Chemical to turnaround No 1 ECH unit

SHANGHAI (ICIS news)---China’s Bohui Chemical plans to turnaround its No 1 80,000 tonne/year epichlorohydrin (ECH) unit on Thursday for a week’s maintenance, a company source said.

The shutdown of the unit, located in Zibo, Shandong, was brief and demand from the downstream epoxy resin industry had been weak so the turnaround was not expected to have much impact on the market, the source said.

The company rolled over its ECH offer from last week at yuan (CNY) 19,000/tonne ($2,557/tonne) delivered to north and east China.

Its No 2 80,000 tonnes/year ECH unit at the same site had been shut since early October due to mechanical problems.
