SINGAPORE (ICIS news)--Mitsubishi Chemical has shut its 120,000 tonne/year bisphenol A (BPA) facility in Kurozaki, Japan, for a scheduled one-month turnaround this week, a company official said on Friday.

"The plant was shut down for maintenance on 15 November, and is expected to restart on 24 December," the official said, adding that the company had earlier built up sufficient inventories to ensure no major disruption in supplies to their existing customers.

Other BPA majors in the region include Nan Ya Plastics, Mitsui Chemicals, Kumho P&B Chemical, and LG Chem.
