BUENOS AIRES (ICIS news)--DuPont is achieving a 30% reduction in energy costs compared with nylon 6 manufacturing by using bio-based production processes for its Sorona brand, a company executive said on Tuesday

The use of renewable feedstock is also reducing greenhouse gas emissions 55%, DuPont Argentina executive Jose Testa said at the 27th annual Latin American Petrochemical Association (APLA) meeting in Buenos Aires.

The company sees bio-based production as having a growing role in its business, Testa told delegates.

“This is the path that DuPont is currently following,” he said.
