NEW DELHI (ICIS news)--India’s state trading house MMTC Limited on Tuesday invited fresh global tenders for supply of 30,000-36,000 tonnes of sulphur at Cochin port in Kerala.
This is the third tender notice with in a span of less than one month against the back of tight supply in the global market and high ruling prices.
MMTC had scrapped the previous two bidding competitions for want of satisfactory bids.
The company said the bidders would have to offer “one firm and one optional parcel of 15,000-18,000 MTS (metric tonnes) each lot.”
The firm parcel should reach
The last date for submission of offers is 26 November with validity up to 3 December.
This time MMTC is seeking only one optional parcel instead of two as was the case in earlier tenders.
Moreover, it has left open-ended the delivery date for optional consignment, which was not the case in two earlier tenders.
The company has sought bright yellow sulphur as granules/prills/pellets with sulphur content of 99.5% on dry basis.
MMTC did not indicate the names of chemical and fertilizer companies on whose behalf it intended to purchase sulphur.
It is, however, understood that it has been trying to make purchase for Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT).
